Community Tasting Notes 10

October 9, 2015 - Allowed to breathe in glass 30 minutes before tasting. Clear medium garnet-ruby color. Lovely bouquet of mixed red and black fruit, baking spices, sweet oak, musk, clean animal fur. Savory notes with vigorous swirling, and hints of caramel after two hours. Similar on the palate, a bit rough and alcoholic at first, but settling down nicely after an hour, at which time it was smooth, balanced, harmonious, rich, with full body. Outstanding wine that improved over two hours in the glass and held up nicely for four days under vacuum stopper in refrigerator. No rush to drink.

October 6, 2012 - Tasting really great right now. Loads of black currant , and black cherries. The cedar box spice is subtle and balanced. Very enjoyable.

September 15, 2011 - Pretty good color, and the nose is pleasant with a perfume of stewed plums and red tomatoes. There is an herbaceous note of oregano which is reminiscent of cold tomato sauce. The palette is filled with cooked cherries. The filling on a cherry pie comes to mind. The baking spices shine through also, cinnamon and nutmeg abound. Over all pretty good, but there is an odor on the nose I find not quite my style of Pinot preferred. Drink soon.

September 30, 2009 - rather weak in flavor and color...but not bad for a Tuesday night...

September 2, 2008 - Pale, clear red. Red cherry, pine, smoke and vanilla. Medium acidity, light-medium body, soft tannins. Flavors match aromas. Medium finish.
