Community Tasting Notes 2

  • MC2 Wines Likes this wine:

November 24, 2022 - Piemonte: Back to the truffling!; 11/24/2022-12/3/2022 (Wineries and various restaurants): 2 years in new oak like all of the Barolo. Very pretty in style, almost reminds me of an apricot jam (perhaps because there is a picture in the tasting room of the first family after they won a peach growing contest). Drying tannin. More time needed but a nice start to it. Comes from a vineyard towards the top of Bussia (perhaps the ‘real’ Bussia) with clay soils.

    November 17, 2022 - 100% Nebbiolo
from two vineyards: Rocche (south/south-est) and Munie (south/west)
in the Bussia hamlet of Monforte d’Alba at 280-300 m with sandstone,
marly, muddy, chalky soil and vines of age 15-50 yrs old planted
    5,500/ha.
Manual harvest in small holed baskets. Soft pressed. Long maceration.
Spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeast without sulfites.
Aged 18+ months on fine lees in small oak barrels.
Plus ~6 months in bottle at 15°C.
    15% Abv.

to 28 ha of vineyards. In 2019, Giulia, Tiziana's daughter and Francesco,
Marco’s son (5th gen) came on board.
Proprietors: Siblings Marco and Tiziana Parusso

A(ccuray)=2: Med red/garnet. Oak perfumed varietal.
B(alance)=2: Modulated components awaiting full integration.
C(omplexity)=2: Dark berries, spice, nuts, earth.
D(epth)=2: Robust mouthfeel. Full palette and finish.
