Community Tasting Notes 5

  • dnnk88 Does not like this wine:

November 27, 2020 - End Nov Wine Night @ GWC!: Raisins, pruny, tar, heat, alcohol. Reaffirmed that this maker's style is not for me.

September 25, 2020 - A bit over the hill. Not much in the way of fruit other than some cherry licorice that dissipated fairly quickly. Decent tar and chewy leather. Some browning. Drink up

March 24, 2016 - On the nose: Tar, violet, some animal tones, stable, leather.
On the palate: Tar, licorice, saddle leather, some animal tones. Still good tannins and acidity
    Medium + finish

August 20, 2006 - Lovely perfumed nose that was evident upon opening. Took to Valentino and they decanted when we arrived and we began drinking an hour later. Fruit was balanced with typical tar and roses and decent acidity. Joy noticed some heat (alcohol) that dissapated over the next couple hours. It is probably best to let these sit awhile longer. Both Robin and Joe Law loved the wine.

March 26, 2005 - If all I was assessing was the nose then this wine would have been a 98. Deeply colored this wine had such a pure and riveting nebbiolo nose. Tons of sweet fruit along with coffee and tea. Very sexy indeed. The palate does not quite live up to it's olfactory counterpart. Rich red fruit with mocha and fine tannin. The finish was just a bit short. It went really well with the veal chop though.
