  April 24, 2024 - Quite delicious. Old school vibe with a solid core of dark chocolate. Would have appreciated a touch more acidity to give a bit more lift. Otherwise well balanced. A touch hot on the back end. A chillin wine you can sip on and ponder. Cellar temp is where I prefer it. It gets a little unglued as it warms up. Agree there is a touch of VA which gives added complexity. Quite nice on day 2

  February 20, 2024 - My first bottle was flawed, so was eager to open this one from my BD15 shipment. This is showing really nicely. The American oak does present itself immediately on open, but blows off a good bit with about 30 min air. After that you’re met with a really nice restrained expression of Zinfandel. I really appreciate the lower alcohol level here. Great food wine. I get a touch of VA here, more in the sweet/sour realm, and it’s subtle so non offensive and many will appreciate the added complexity it brings. There’s good structure here too, but never overwhelming. Very enjoyable.

  February 11, 2024 - Something happened to this one. Strong dill pickle smell and extremely sour acids. Other S-F bottles have been fantastic, so likely just an off bottle here.
