December 9, 2023 - pened at Octavium in HK. Slow-oxed and served blind.

    Sadly, Corked :(

May 25, 2020 - I always follow the producer recommendations to open the bottle early in the day, pour off a small taste, then just let it open up by dinner time. They recommend not decanting as it rushes the aeration process and can shock the wine. Pretend you are in Tuscany and have nothing to do all day except have an espresso and sit in the shade on the veranda. The soft beauty of the wine is perfect with a tender marbled steak. Shows sweet cherry fruit with tannins completely integrated and sweet leaf between tobacco and tea. Finally has a long clean finish with a nice balance of acidity. I don't know how long these can go and improve, but probably as long as you want it to.

March 22, 2020 - Extraordinary. A perfect expression of Brunello di Montalcino. A truly profound wine. Mature, but plenty of life left, and who knows how it may mature over the next 20 years. Opened 6 hours and then decanted for an hour before drinking. A bit more wouldn't have hurt, but not sure whether the wine would have changed further with more time (an unknown counterfactual). One of the great wines of the world from one of the world's greatest wine makers.

May 8, 2016 - Amazing wine. Perfectly integrated with seamless tannins and no sharp edges. Worth the hype
