Community Tasting Notes 4

November 10, 2009 - Clean and refreshing, a bit flinty but nice fruit with lemon and melon. I found the oak becoming more prominent and a bit out of balance on 2nd and 3rd days. Clearly at it's best right after opening.

July 9, 2008 - Dunno whether there is better AC Chablis on the market? This has nice ripeness and fleshy peach characters along with the more typical Chablis terroir traits. There is a nice channel of geological material, with plenty of iodine and enough piercing citrus on the finish to make you go all ‘squinty’ a la Rene Zellweger.

May 11, 2008 - My first French chablis, and a very good one at that. Medium golden-yellow in color, with green apples, melon, citrus and a hint of banana on the nose. On the palate quite full, if medium-bodied, with apples, melon and citrus elements, amidst good acidity and barely perceptible oak. This was more rich than the typical American unoaked chardonnay, and both my wife and I were quite impressed. This was excellent both as an aperitif and with sauteed scallops.

March 6, 2008 - A very nice, dry Chablis; flint and hint of lemon on the nose; a pear skin and mineral in the mouth and finish.
