Community Tasting Notes 2

November 20, 2023 - 20% new oak, 100% estate Chard. Flinty aromas. Brown-toned oak flavors on the palate. ‘Lots of battonage and lees contact’. ‘Struck match, gunsmoke, flint.’
    350-500cs of Chard

Escarpment founded by Larry McKenna in 1999 (Torbreck first wines in 1998). Purchased by Torbreck in 2017. Larry planted Kure vineyard in 1999 just south of Martinborough township. Larry worked at Dujac in Burg before founding his estate and then retired from GM in 2022.

February 21, 2023 - Had at the vineyard. Wow stong nose of burnt match and rubber, with some fruity follow up. On the palate a lighter feel from minimal oak, but still luscious and youthful. Light citrus finish. Quite different and very enjoyable.
