    July 12, 2023 - Very pale red. Certainly on the elegant side of the Brunello spectrum, this retains a sense of freshness not often found in Montalcino's wines, particularly ones that spent this much time in barrel. On the nose this is exceptionally pretty without being vivacious, opening with aromas of dried red cherries, fresh strawberries, thyme, fresh roses, baked clay and spice. On the palate it is nearly full bodied with medium+ acidity and fine, racy tannins that seem to cover every inch of the palate. The flavors here are fresh to the point they seem almost Burgundian, but they seem to lack just a touch of concentration; I wish there was just a little bit more oomph in that department to stand up to this wine's textural elements. Perhaps that will come in time as the tannins integrate; if so, my score will look very conservative.
