April 6, 2024 - 45 minute decant. Nose shows light pear, almond, and moonbeams. Lemon, granite, and hints of petrol burst across the tongue in a supernova of acidity. Slight note of lemon pith leads into a finish of pear wrapped in cosmic lightning. In a very Extradimensional style.

October 14, 2023 - What a difference a day makes. Initially this had a lot of funkiness and a little sulfur over a pretty rigid minerality. A lot of complicated fruit notes were blurred under this wild overtone and a pretty powerful acidity under it. It was definitely different, strong, and taut on day 1.
Next day and what a transformation. Funk and sulfur were gone, and what was left behind - a mellow green apple and sublime pear with a touch of honeycomb and lanolin - was very subtle.
It kind of depends what you want. My tastes in whites veers to the latter, but others might want the up front zowieness of this wine. This is only my second EWCY! white so I hesitate to make generalizations but their white wines seem to have a lot of aging potential and high transformational ability. I think I am going to age the rest in the cellar.
Score: 91-92. Relative to expectations: ++ based on second day radical blossoming and coming together.

August 28, 2023 - Nice notes below, this is for the adventurous, leans almost Savennieres-y, with some haystackedinabarn vibes, lots of acidity, a medium-bodied lush/depth. Lots to chew on.

March 18, 2023 - I liked it better last year; but this still shows quite well. We decanted it for an hour and it was still a little disjointed. After 4-5 hours, however, it found its place.

Barnyard, autolytic yeast, ripe apples, ripe pears, wet stone, oxidation and a hint of chenin funk on the nose. The nose in particular is funkier than I remember from last year. The palate, however, is quite enjoyable. There is much less funk and much more fruit - the same apples and pears from the nose. There are also oak flavors that were missing from the nose like smoked wood and vanilla that go a long way toward balancing this out. While they play a background role, they are certainly welcome. More mineral on the finish with wet stone and salinity notes.

Medium + body with zippy medium + acid. Given that I enjoyed this more last year, I am divided on whether or not to say drink now or age it. But I am going to say it's in a mildly dull phase, and that two more years wouldn't hurt.

September 13, 2022 - Yellow stone fruits and some florals. A bit of a waxy texture, with very good acidity. This probably should have been decanted, as I feel this was trying to give more.
