Community Tasting Notes 8

  • Kcornett Likes this wine: 90 points

December 17, 2023 - Needed to breath for about 30 minutes to come together. Good complexity. Balanced tannins. Higher acidity.

April 9, 2023 - Still very young—not very expressive of fruit or complexity—ok balance tho .

February 25, 2023 - Kinda terrible. Muted nose, non-existent middle, wild peppery finish. More foul than fish.

October 10, 2022 - Tasted at High Treason in SF.
An alluring bouquet of spices over warm berries introduces this wine. The entry of the palate is all warm red and black fruit with prominent high notes of spice and some herby flavors. The nice core of fruit is laminated by a hit of serious acid. The tannins are significant but the grain is fine. The finish is long but doesn’t elaborate on the mid palate. This is probably too young to show all its cards, but the elements are there.

September 22, 2022 - Bright and nervy, this shows more obvious acid, and so greater freshness than many Bedrock wines. It also makes more linear, as the acids focus the fruit, which does not spread out on the palate as much as other Bedrock Heritage wines. More food friendly, if less luscious, there’s a good balance, and also distinctiveness. Early days, and plenty of material for further aging. Drink a bottle soon to catch the brightness, but age a few to see what happens as it evolves.
