January 3, 2023 - A private dinner (Restaurant Bar Centraal, Amsterdam, NL): Chardonnay vines (0.3 ha) planted in 1983 on marnes du lias with rich clay top soils lower on the slope, fermentation (with indigenous yeasts) and ageing for 22 months on the lees in demi-muids, 14% ABV. A very textural wine, viscous, almost oily, rich and weighty, fresh and minerally, ripe apple and citrus, earth and hint of flowers, expansive and layered finish.
