  February 5, 2024 - Deep purple hue with delightful aromas of oak, vanilla, toasted hazlenut, fennel and plum and blueberry. This medium body wine is characterized by bright acidity and silky structure. A remarkable Malbec from a Napa powerhouse with smooth and enjoyable finish.

  October 20, 2023 - Typical club wine - good, but not great. Deep rich color and mouthfeel. Short finish. Lacks complexity. Low QPR.

  May 22, 2023 - Deep purple with hints of dried leaves, pencil shavings, camphor, blackberry and blueberry. The palate is well rounded with subtle grip and bright acidity. A medium to full body with very well integrated tannins. Reminds me of dark chocolate. The finish is long and memorable. This can compete with almost all Malbecs with its elegance and poise. Another gem from Chappellet.

  February 20, 2023 - Having been to Mendoza, Argentina many times, I am just spoiled. I have yet to taste an American Malbec that can hold a candle up to even the mid-range, Argentinian Malbec. This was a well-made wine with prune and chocolate notes but the balance and nuances that I savor from the Argentinian Malbec is just not here.
