March 23, 2018 - A fabulous 30 year old tawny. Very light brownish color. Wonderful nose of dried fruits, aromas of plum jam, figs, orange zest and raisins, plus caramel, cinnamon, walnuts and some vanilla. Rich, creamy and very elegant: perfectly balanced. Very, very long finish that stays for 90 seconds plus.

October 28, 2005 - Tasted at the Quinta in the Douro - Dark brown color with orange rim. Fascinating nose. Complex and fruity. This is obviously old. Really thick and surprisingly full bodied. Complex notes or orange peel and flowers. Caramel. Super long finish. I really loved this! 94 points.

December 2009 (link)(NV Vista Alegre 30 Year Old Tawny Port) My notes said this was obviously a Tawny Port or a Colheita (I did write “30-40 years of bottle age”). A dark-orange-amber color with an apple-green edge, this beauty has an evocative mélange of scents ranging from toasted coconut and orange peel to latex paint and dried apricot. It’s a hedonistic Port, light-to-medium-bodied and luxuriously textured, with a near-perfect acid-fruit synchronicity. Marmalade and butterscotch envelop the palate, followed by an intense and complex aftertaste. An excellent tawny, and the “reveal” did not shock me at all, as this is one of the two or three best 30 Year Olds I’ve tasted. The Tenets of Tawny Port
