  March 15, 2024 - Two hour double decant. Deep dark magenta color. Dark chocolate brownie, anise, plum, cassis, and subtle hot pavement. Smooth, dry palate, with vibrant acidity. Firm, medium intensity tannins on the longish finish.
  
  This is built like a good Napa CS. Turnbull is one of the best Merlot makers in Napa IMHO. It was WOTN for several of us at our monthly supper club.

  August 12, 2023 - One hour slow ox. Very very deep electric magenta color. Plum, raspberry, and smoky baking spice. Smooth, tongue drying palate. Firm, full tannins on the long finish.
  
  I was very pleasantly surprised by the impressive structure this Merlot has. It’s lacking nothing and built like a CS. Youth is the only flaw here. This will get much better in the coming year or two.

  July 27, 2023 - An excellent merlot. Not quite as bold and lush as some of the prior vintage Fortuna merlots, but still a very nice wine with plenty of years left in it.
