  October 21, 2023 - Colour indicates the age appropriately, deep tawny. Nose jumps out of the glass; very complex, dark red fruit, black olives, earthy notes, herbal notes. Palate is sweet with the dark red fruit balanced with acidity, and surprisingly, ripe fine tannins are present in the background. Overall well balanced, almost silky. Long finish. At its peak but not dying any time soon.

  November 8, 2019 - Die Weine von Abadia Retuerta räumen seit Jahren Punkte bei Proensa, Penin und Parker ab. Schon x Weine des Produzenten in den letzten Jahren getrunken und ich konnte die Super Bewertungen selten nachvollziehen. Vielleicht einfach nicht mein Stil. Bei diesem hier gibts aber nur zu sagen, dass der sowas von hinüber ist. Ungeniessbar säuerlich. Meinem Kollegen wurde der als Rarität und Blockbuster für die Spanien Degu empfohlen. Er war den Tränen nahe aus Enttäuschung und Wut.

  February 13, 2011 - Juicy, long lasting. Plum. Smooth; no sense of harshness of any kind. Lasts forever on the palate. Very deep. But not complex: what you start with, you finish with. A truly excellent wine.

  May 7, 2010 - Bottle variation going on here for sure based on all other notes I have read below. I found the wine today at a very nice prime, with integrated soft tannins, and a remarkable level of acidity that went perfectly well with the somewhat sweet profile. As with other bottles from this producer, this one also had that green effect going on, but in this case, was in the background not interfering too much with the rest of the show. I liked the wine, and enjoyed its profile, smooth balance and concentration, but would have liked it better if it offered a reasonable level of complexity, which seems to have been missed here. Drink up, but enough going on to hold closer to Parker's prediction of 2015.
