Community Tasting Notes 32

February 20, 2023 - Just as good as the last one. Picked up some tar and licorice aromas this time in addition to prior notes. At peak and drinking very well.

May 28, 2022 - This opens up with smooth aromas of fruit and fresh cut flowers. Very silky on the palette with dark fruit, earth and tobacco flavors. My first of three bottles. At or near it’s peak, but no need to hurry up and drink.

December 19, 2019 - Pop and pour. Earthy nose. Tons of tart cranberry still on the palate along with sous bois. Great acidity. This one could go for another 19 years. Glad I have another bottle to hold.

August 30, 2019 - This wine is in the perfect position right now to totally kick some ass and take names. And, IMO, that is what it did tonight. This wine had everything from blackberry to blueberry to chocolate to tar, tobacco leaf to wildflowers. Rounded edges everywhere. Served pop and pour. The finish had a little bit of toasted oak astringency but did not seem to interfere with the experience. I really couldn't tell you if this was more the traditional or modern style but would lean more to the traditional. Powerful, yet soft. Very structured. Has another 20 years left IMO. In my running for wine of the night tonight.

October 15, 2018 - Scored this higher two years ago. May be a bit past it’s prime. But still drinking well
