October 22, 2023 - 2016 Vitanza Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Firma ($40 WTSO in 2/23). Light-mid ruby, rim variation, viscous (14.5 alc.); red fruit, earthy, cedar, cherries and spice nose; mid acids; mid tannins; semi-long red fruit, cherry and wood finish. w/osso buco. 16.5-17 UC Davis scale, 91-92 others.

Mature and shiny with a captivating profile alternating notes of sour cherries, pressed red flowers, lemon juice, linden, jasmine, rose petals and dog rose. Full bodied, soft tannins of optimum workmanship and an incredibly elegant and compact finale that will come out over time. Better from 2023. International Wine Report

September 24, 2023 - Nothing special of a wine. Fruit forward easy drinker and lighter bodied wines. Well balanced with a fairly lively acidity. I was told that this is the mother wine of the Andretti Barolo 16'. Not sure what this means.
