March 15, 2024 - Better with food, better after sitting open for a few hours. Smells like a combo of the more prominent bits of a Chilean malbec and a Central CA pinot: dark fruit, herbs, and earthy. Very dry and decent acidity, weirdly got a hit of watermelon jolly rancher up front before a lot of savory characteristics came through.

February 3, 2024 - Confident and exuberant: plush ripe red fruit, new leather, savoury meaty notes. Full and silky, concentrated on the palate, with charmingly blocky and grippy tannins, freshening acidity. Really quite dry and food-friendly.

Very nice sour cherry notes and excellent Blaufränkisch for the money.
I'm curious how it will further develop and will keep 2 of the 4 remaining bottles for a few more years. No restrictions on the other 2 - fun to drink now!
