May 8, 2024 - Intriguing as always, and needing a couple hours to open up. Notes of bell pepper, leather, tart cherry, and hints of brett commingle throughout, with ample acidity moving things along. Puckery and savory, and a nice change of pace, if not a tad simple.

May 8, 2024 - This was poured from a 750 to the brim of a spare 375 screw cap, and this note is from day 5.

On the nose explosive cab franc aromatics, charred poblano, Virginia tobacco, green olive, bit of Brett funk, bit of red fruit.

On the palate medium grained tannins, mouthwatering acid, medium finish. Somewhat odd combo of silky mouthfeel with tannins that leaned just a touch rustic. Crunchy red fruit and savory tones in line with the nose.

A very fine Loire red. On pop and pour this had more fruit and proportionally less savory characteristics.

NOSE: "dark"; medium pyrazine; barely-ripe banana; leaning high-toned; a touch stanky; wet stones / petrichor at 3.5hrs open mark.

BODY: garnet-violet color of medium-deep to deep depth; medium-light to medium bodied. Oddly, my 750s have labels intended for mags.

TASTE: jalapeno pyrazine; purple-fruited; light horse tack funk; light, medium-fine, tannins; adequate acidity; alc. not noticeable (13%). Day 2: largely the same as Day 1, including the slight funk; flashy/touch thin. I like-don't-love it; quite happy to have a couple more at the $23 I paid.

December 28, 2023 - Pop and pour. Notes from 1 hr open. On the nose: cinnamon, cherry, camphor. On the palate: good acidity, black cherry, ash, light bodied, soft tannin. Juicy and enjoyable now!
