Community Tasting Notes 3

December 20, 2022 - Bought in Melbourne, at Cult of the Vine. Very hyped up producer. Did it live up to the hype? Well kind of. Medium ruby in the glass. Nose is marked with bright red berry fruit, violets, some freshly dug up soil. Palate is fairly simple - fruit is dominant, tannins are soft (surprising for a Nebbiolo), acidity and alcohol are high. Everyday drinking wine with all its elements in balance, but nothing beyond a easy sipper really.

November 11, 2022 - Kuon x International Fine Wines: This was phenomenal in what was for me a fairly star studded line-up and coming in as the last batter up there was a lot of work to do.

From a pure QPR perspective this wine is a ripper, the perfumed intensity on the nose was brilliant - rose petals, tar, red berries. On the palate the fine lace of silky tannins gave lovely structure, but also enough grip that it wasn't just another bottle of fruit juice.

Stunning really, approachable, yet detailed and structured.

Testing the tasting note assistant, pretty helpful:
The wine looks ruby colored. It smells like blackberry, raspberry, red currant, black currant (cassis), tar and rose. The body is medium. The wine has satin-like texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has high acidity.
