January 29, 2024 - So for about 15 bucks we get an authentic southern Rhône gsm blend, duh that’s what Gerard Bertrand stands for, and has given us for decades. Great color. Grenache fruit. Syrah body. They might be trying to hide a minor flaw. Great balance. About an 85 86 wine. Fruity ripe finish

July 13, 2023 - Overall: green, bitter tannins overpower the wine and make it pretty unpleasant. Lots of good wine coming out of Languedoc but this isn’t one. At the price point this is an example of some of the not so great you have to dig through to get to the good from this region. On the plus side, this is real wine and is not manipulated. Unfortunately, it’s not very good and I’m glad I only bought one.

Appearance: dark, translucent garnet with some earth tones. Looks old for its age.

Nose: rather simple with some red fruit, blackberry, and some slight pepper. A little smokiness/savoriness. Just a touch of pastry sweetness.

Palate: the red fruit comes through for a moment (raspberries, cherries), but then the bitter tannins kick in and just overpower the wine. It’s drying and rough. It’s just too rustic for my taste.

Finish: unfortunately it’s a bit long and the bitterness carries through to sourness at the very end.

June 26, 2023 - Rhone blend: Syrah 40%, Grenache 40%, Mourvedre 20%. Languedoc. Much better Rhones for $10, Costco price. Medallic, somewhat sour taste. Better w/food, but still glad I bought just 1 bottle.

January 28, 2023 - Deep garnet. Aromas of plum, cherry, blackcurrant, pepper, vanilla, tobacco. Medium body, medium acidity, integrated tannins, very balanced. Intense taste, easy drinking, medium aftertaste. Good.
