September 21, 2023 - A blend of 75% Pinot Noir and 25% Chardonnay, disgorged June 2021 with a dosage of 6 gr/l, tirage of 2000 bottles, No. 0593/2000. Confirms my earlier tasting notes - particularly in the sense that this is a puzzling wine. I even get a hint of onion skin - but I can't believe that the wine is light struck, it's in a dark green bottle, it was bought directly from the importer in 2022 and stored in my dedicated 10C Champagne fridge since. There is nice freshness and real leesy energy paired with some (white) nutty evolution, but (even after aeration) the dried fruit and bitter notes feel quite tired. Drink up.

December 11, 2022 - A private lunch with friends (at home): Bottle No. 0595/2000. Disgorged June 2021, so around 9 years on the lees. Today I had more time to spend with this wine than at the presentation tasting in August, but I am still a bit puzzled by it. The yeasty energy and freshness are remarkable and are testament to the long lees ageing. The nose displays white nuts and dried tropical fruits, the palate is balanced and harmonious, silky but not hugely precise and with substantial bitters, with small red berries and warm spices, the finish has a touch of lemon zest but it tails off a bit - it lacks drive and vibrancy. Was it worth the wait? Good rather than great, slightly generous score.

November 26, 2022 - Great champagne! Better on day two. Intense and complex nose with apples minerality and overripe fruit. Nose like a great white Burgundy. Lovely tasty palate. Big champagne with a very long and pleasant finish

August 29, 2022 - Introduction of Champagne Brigitte Beaufort (Restaurant The Lobby Fizeaustraat, Hotel V, Amsterdam, NL): A blend of 75% Pinot Noir and 25% Chardonnay, harvested 24-31 August 2011, disgorged June 2021 with a dosage of 6 gr/l with 2000 bottles produced. Starts out quite oxidative and nutty on the nose with toasted nuts, but this clears up greatly with aeration to more floral aromas. The palate however displays developed flavours of earth and white mushrooms, and a lower acidity than the 2012's tasted before; orange on the finish. Much riper and less energetic than the 2012's - expressive of the vintage.

June 18, 2022 - Bready, full tasting. Would pair well with white meat.
