October 30, 2023 - Pale greenish yellow. Powerful, dynamic aromas of lime, green apple, and herbs. Light to medium weight, just off dry, ripping acidity and soil. Thrilling young Riesling.

October 25, 2023 - Good Grip with a bouquet of some citrus fruit and slight honey.
The palate offers a competition of crisp acidity and nice sweetness of the residual sugar. Its definitely build for the long haul.

August 13, 2023 - An interesting clove note on the nose gives this a baked apple character -- also some reductive notes that I expect will age out. Boy is it different on the palate -- the acidity packs a punch on the attack, with bright lemon flavors sitting on top of lots of minerality. Even with air, tough for the fruit to show through right now -- definitely some green apple and lemon zest. medium finish is dominated by acid. Super refreshing and should age well.

May 5, 2023 - Tasted next to the other two Spätlese feinherb wines. This was the most mineral driven of the three. Nose of lemon, apple, tart fruit, a bit less stone fruit compared to the others and lots of minerals. Nice acidity on the palate with more lemon notes, chalk, and a slight bitterness towards the finish. Somewhere in-between the Meyer Nepal and the Palm in terms of ripeness. Really good, but probably the most backwards wine right now, this just needs time! 93-94+

May 1, 2023 - 5/1/23 Thai and Riesling Study (Tum Nak Thai): Quite similar to the Ludes in that sweet and sour style of balance. Nose of salted preserved lemons, mint and elderflower, citrus peels. Salty sweet lemons, key lime and ginger lime, unripe white peaches, wet slate minerality and a very citrus/lime puckering acidity. Doesn’t taste very sweet with the bold acid, beautifully balanced but some age will also help mellow out that biting acidity. Quite precise and very lean for a Spätlese, med body. 91-92+

April 13, 2023 - Berserker Offline (Mezze and More): My favorite falkenstein of the night for current drinking. Generous fruit married to electric acid, laser focused and just enough sweetness to balance, and a can’t-quite-grasp-it aromatic quality. An affable wine.

April 13, 2023 - Berserker Thursday - Riesling in SF (Mezze and More): Drinking beautifully, opened more on the apple spectrum but widened into broader lemony white fruit. Great poise and balance, fresh and intense.

February 21, 2023 - Drank alongside the '21 AP12 (Kugel Peter). Not much on the nose here -- some stone, hint of rubber and lemon zest. Similar profile to the AP12 with a much leaner palate. A beam of acid -- like biting into an under-ripe granny smith apple -- and lime. Very energetic wine that grabs your attention.

January 28, 2023 - [Drank alongside Falkenstein Kabinett feinherb AP15]
Like the Feinherb Kabinett, very similar nose - not as sulfuric or reductive, but smells of a freshwater stream. A little reductive on the palate, lean orchard fruit, lemon and yuzu peel, crushed stones, flint, and freshwater stream (lots of minerality). Surprisingly light, in a similar realm to the Kabinett. Higher sugar, but still solidly off dry or nearing med-dry. Really good balancing lime acidity. Also very ageable and drinkable now too. This could definitely see upside with time. 92 today, 93+(++) potential
