Drinking beautifully, opened more on the apple spectrum but widened into broader lemony white fruit. Great poise and balance, fresh and intense.

Bright and beautiful, best of the ‘21s tonight. Intense and floral.

One of the sweeter bottles of the night. Really delicious but not especially complex. On the richer side of Ausleses, good balance. Hold other bottle for 5-10 years.

Fascinating wine. Rich white fruit and honey nose, but palate was surprisingly quite dry. I would say Trocken, or perhaps barely off Trocken. Less sweet than the Feinherbs on the table. Racy, penetrating and delicious, with herbal and savory notes to complement the fruity nose. Long finish. Excellent. Not what I was expecting but nothing wrong with that!

Surprisingly herb garden of a rich dry Riesling. Engaging, lots of depth and energy, long finish. These two 2001 dry Riesling were both stunners tonight.

Very pretty highly engaging Riesling, definitely in the high acid, well balanced camp of Falkenstein and Haart. Perhaps a touch drier than the Feinherbs, herbal and floral. Very good.

Disgorged 2020. Weird sparkling pickle juice stuff, very herbal. Hard to drink.

Perhaps WOTN for me among a lot of really beautiful Rieslings. Lovely complex nose, an herb garden galore. Palate with good density but dry, well balanced, that flowed and morphed over time for white fruit to savory herbs to flowers. Great intensity balance and length. A lovely aged Riesling. I don’t drink many Alsatians but this was a winner.

Attractive Spätlese but tonight this was quiet, lacking in acid and verve.

Much better vintage showing, rich, white fruited, good attack. A fun sweetish wine, but overshadowed tonight.

Typical for a dinner with so many wines, I barely got to spend time with this. But the few moments and small sips were spectacular. Score probably conservative. A wow.
