May 2, 2024 - Drank late at night on a rare break in the fast during Great Lent.
Overall pale purple, consistent with vintage.
Bouquet is quite pleasant. Sawdust. Musty.
Palate is quite tight. Needs a minute. Sawdust here too. Immediately there is a blackberry, dark fruit flavor. Tart apple. Raspberry. Lots of fruit underneath the very tight and long tannins. -

June 8, 2023 - Medium intensity ruby plus orange hints. Some rim variation. Peaked now as I don't see any [potential for dwvelopment. Drink in the next 3 years. Bluberry. black raspberry, clove spice. no florals. Light to medium mouth feel, soft texture, medium acidity, low tannin, no alcohol to speak of. Leather flavor. Short finish. Little of what you would expect from a barolo. A PLCB Chairman barolo is unusual and I would not buy this again even at the reduced price.

May 29, 2023 - Smells of pepper. Good color and body. Bone dry all the way through. Pepper and tannins on the finish. Not a complex wine. Enjoyed with a ribeye, and paired well.
