January 22, 2023 - Opened up for a red wine mushroom sauce to put on beef tenderloin. Bought on release from who knows where and in the cellar 15+ years; not sure why I never got to this one. Rather monolithic and firm merlot (90+%) but has nice core of iron, black tea, and tons of earthiness. Fruit is a bit stripped away. Seems actually restrained for a Rolland made wine. This probably would have been better 5 years ago but still holding up OK.

July 2, 2020 - Limited notes taken. Incredibly intense aromas of cedar, supported by leather, tobacco, black tea, dried herbs, and tomato leaf. A core of black and blue fruit developed overtime as the wine sat in the decanter.

June 6, 2020 - Still has some nice acid, tannins present but very light grip. Lots of woodsy flavors, dry red fruits.

November 17, 2017 - I just opened this bottle. I have always had it properly cellared. The color is ruby with some slight carmel on the edges, slightly oxidized. The cork was soaked at the bottom. The nose is off port like. The last review that I see was around 2015 so It appears the wine is past its peak by quite a bit.
