April 29, 2024 - Very atypical, concentrated and earthy for the first two days. The fruit starts to shine on day three. Somewhat natural winemaking.

March 30, 2024 - Decanted ~3 hours prior to serving and in need of every minute of it. Poured into Grassl Libertes. As with the other bottles of Cassiopee I've opened, this smelled pretty foul on opening. Fortunately, that reduction blew off with time open. Made in a light, transparent style with a powerful, spicy nose. A bit barnyard-y, but in a dose that adds interest and doesn't distract. Bright, dense, tart red fruit on the palate. I think this needs a few years to resolve a bit.

January 28, 2024 - Slightly darker but also much more approachable compared to the 2021 with lush and lively red fruit, flowers, perfume and soft and silky tannins. Once again, the old wines provide depth and interest. Uber delicious now, but certainly also a wine for the cellar.

November 26, 2023 - Fresh. Exciting. Delicious. A Maranges? Yes, even with a residual funk that marks its terroir, this new style wine making adds verve to the fruit-filled 2020 vintage. Recommended by the best somms in NYC. Let it breathe for 30 minutes and serve at low cellar temp. The nose is so demonstrative- tart cherry, cranberry, barnyard-- and the cross between Beaune Greves and Foillard /Bouland. Not feral but really full natural flavors, with dark cherry, horse scents, moist soil and lots of fun all woven together

July 4, 2023 - 12.5% alcohol. Grippy tannins, some stable (perhaps a tad bretty), dark cherry, some rose, bright and refreshing acidity. Quite dense, with some grippy tannins and a medium+ length finish.
