June 13, 2012 - Medium ruby, aromatic nose of violets, roses. Lightly dry with zesty red berries, sprightly acid on the tongue, lite tannins, lovely soft mouthfeel, nice summer wine. In a good place now. Second glass much improved over the PnP, cherries coming through, just a hint of stony fruit, very nice. Berserker special of several years ago, the wait was worth it. Just a plus if it gets better on night two. I just love the acid balance, I raised it another point from start to finish on glass two. If I am not careful there will not be a night two.

January 27, 2012 - Popped and poured and just a bit cloudy, but nice cherry and strawberry fruit. This is opening up nicely in the glass and a hell of a good QPR! Very tasty for the price! Great job John!

March 8, 2011 - Popped and poured at a French Restaurant with my wife. It took very little time to open up, and it was very nice. A somewhat jammy fruity Pinot with bright cherry notes, some nice smooth tannins and a really long toasty finish. We gave a sample to the somewhat snobby French owner who took a sip, swirled it in his mouth, and then smiled and swallowed the wine (and his pride) by admitting it was very nice and compared nicely with its French distant cousins. Tell me what tasty Burgundy you can buy for $40? The answer: NONE!

John, here is a one-word way of describing a good job on this wine: WINNING! (Note-I do not think CS owns a trademark on the term yet so I am not violating Section 6 of the CellarTracker Terms & Conditions, am I?)

February 11, 2011 - 14.3% alcohol. This has integrated nicely over the past year. Red cherry color. Lovely nose of red cherry, black cherry, baking spice, and flowers. In the mouth, the fruit jumps out front, but the floral note catches up quickly, along with a warming baking spice note that runs into bright acidity. Strong finish. A-
