  October 15, 2023 - Found this a little ponderous. The alcohol really comes through. Dark fruits, with an almost baked quality. No freshness here. It's not terribly tannic, but it's a big wine in the sense that the fruit and richness and alcohol are a bit overwhelming. Must have food, it's just too much on it's own. I'm a little surprised, as I love the Failla wines, but I am unable to get into this.

  September 10, 2023 - Blackcurrant fruit with some dark chocolate and baked earth. Rich, deep and heady but by no means heavy. There's a delicious sweet core of fruit. Tannins are ripe and acidity provides lift. Rare rib-eye please!

  January 7, 2023 - Very pretty fruit, boysenberry, cinnamon, candied ginger on a satiny frame. The 2017 had a more exuberant nose but this is still inviting.
