  August 22, 2009 - Linden Vintage Dinner 2009; 8/1/2009-8/30/2009 (Marriott Ranch): Notes from Linden Library dinner. Nose of a little cream, lemon, and minerality. Palate of lemon, cream, minerality, a little tart apple. Above average finish.

  August 22, 2009 - First ever Linden Vineyard library wine vertical tasting: The 2002 Hardscrabble Chardonnay continues in the tradition of its 1998 sibling with many similar characteristics though not as concentrated. It is a youthful, exuberant cousin of the 1998 vintage, very light yellow in color with a grassy citrus aroma. 20% new oak was used in this production but it is strictly in the background. The citrus fruit flavor is in perfect balance with the crisp, mouth filling freshness of its acidity in perfect balance with the fruit. This wine has many more years’ improvement with age ahead of it; though its total run will likely be less than the 1998.

  November 2, 2007 - Aromas of under ripe pear, stone dust, nutmeg, orange spice, and lemon zest. Medium bodied, sappy concentration with a bright flinty acidity and good verve and a slightly drying toasty finish.
