January 17, 2022 - Last of six acquired on original release, although it's been a decade or so since the previous bottle that I drank. Very dark in appearance, young, earthy, Vosnish spice, dark fruits, dense on palate, deep, velvety texture, this bottle would seem to have another 30-40 years in it(!).

October 9, 2021 - Lovely bottle of this. Just at the border in its development--still fresh and lovely dark red fruits, but with some earthy notes showing its age. All quite seamless. Probably best now and over next few years.

February 24, 2015 - This was a very pretty, feminine wine with high floral notes on the nose and great balance across the palate and subtle tannic structure. I was lucky enough to have this with a spectacular truffled "fabulous fungus" risotto and a confit leg of duck. Wow!

April 21, 2013 - The deepest and most brooding of the flight. More rusticity and tannic structure by quite a bit but this is starting to round out and behind the meaty-heme- muscular stuff, there is nice perfume and good darker profiled fruit. A very youthful wine that if I had any, I would hold for a few more years. Still outstanding today, but I would bet on this one's upside. 91+

December 15, 2011 - Popped open with no great expectations. I know storage conditions have not been ideal for this bottle. Too warm and too much light before we moved into this house 8 years ago.

Some mustiness under the foil on top of the cork. Cork was tinged red about halfway up, snd thr cork was pushed in about 1/8 inch.

Lots of bricking in color. Not much aroma left. There is also not too much fruit left, but i can just detect the remants of red fruits. Not really any earthiness left either. But there still is a little bit of a grabbing finish with tannins that I did not expect. A drinkable wine. I wonder if some air will improve ...

November 9, 2008 - Tasting Group Dinner - Burgundy (Cafe Levain, Minneapolis): Terrific core of dark fruit, blood, and iron. Succulent, meaty, earthy, and spicy. The secondary flavors are well-displayed and there is a hint of maturity creeping in on the finish. No need to rush to drink these up, though, because the tannins are still ripe and smooth. Delicious, classic NSG and my WOTN.
