Community Tasting Notes 4

January 20, 2013 - Nose: This was showing well right from the start with mature and deep tones of caramel apples, wax, lanolin, some honeyed tones, and orange peels. As it opens up more, it reveals more tones of peaches and some pear tones as well with a saline quality too.

Taste: Full bodied with medium acidity that created a nice spine. This is very well balanced with a refined sense to the tones of pears, orange peels, caramel apples, lanolin, some honey and a nice minerality on the finish.

Overall: This was wonderful. Cameron is one of my favorite Pinot producers and this was my first experience with their abbey ridge chard. What a stunner and shows off the aging ability of them as well.

May 18, 2008 - Pale gold color. Citrus, fig, a touch of boytrytis, and fig in the nose. On the palate, creamy lemons, honey, green apple. Nice balance, with zippy acid at the finish. This bottle was purchased more recently and seemed to be a little more evolved than the bottle that I've cellared.

April 23, 2008 - Pale golden color. Aromas of citrus, green apple, and fig. On the palate, the wine tasted like concentrated lemon cream pie, grapefruit, apple, and graham. Nice weight, strong mid-palate, very good finish. An excellent wine that is open for business.

November 1, 2007 - Viscous with hints of lemon and other citrsus flavors, oak structure, smooth and balanced, surprisingly good with shrimp gamba (garlic shrimp) neither overpowering or wilting...a nice melding of flavors.
