January 20, 2024 - One of the best Chardonnay I’ve had for a while. In a great spot right now. Rich and textural but with an acid line that keeps it all in check. Even out of a plastic glass at a BBQ it shone brightly! One more bottle left, tough choice of whether to drink now or see where it goes with a couple more years.

May 11, 2022 - From the original 1988 plantings, this wine was first produced in 1991 and has remained a stunning example of pristine, cool-climate Chardonnay ever since. Whole-bunch pressed straight to barrel, with no additions, where it completes fermentation and ageing in French oak barriques (25% new). The wine remains on yeast lees throughout, gaining depth and complexity. The Kostas Rind Chardonnay is grown in a 1.5 hectare plot and the wine is fermented in French oak barrels of which typically 25% are new.
This year’s release is absolutely superb, showing plenty of lemon and lime citrus notes, alongside gentle spice, chalky tannins and a lovely rich, creamy mouthfeel. This really is one of the great, under-the-radar Australian Chardonnays. Just beautiful.1 person found this helpful
