  January 28, 2023 - 100% Pinot Noir
  from the 'flower' and 'fruit' plots of the 3.36 ha monopole lieu-dit
  Largillier of Ville sur Arce in Côte de Bar, south of Troyes (Aube),
  with poor marly Kimmeridgian (clay-limestone) soil quite similar to
  those in Chablis.
  Sole varietal of Pinot Noir with vines of age 35-45 yrs meticulously cultivated.
  Manual harvest and sorted.
  The two plots of single vintage vinified separately and assembled
  in April-May for second fermentation. Malolactic completed.
  Aged 29 months on lees, plus 7 months in bottle.
  Dosage: Brut
  12% Abv. ~10,000 bottles/yr
  
  Background: The Coessens family has been sole proprietor of the
  3.36 ha lieu-dit L'Agillier for five generations. Inherited in 2006 by
  Jérôme Coessens who launched the brand Champagne Coessens.

  A(ccuray)=2: Pale crystalline lemon. Fragrant with minuscule perlage.
  B(alance)=3: Intense fruit with vibrant structure.
  C(omplexity)=2: Ripe tree fruits, white flowers, licorice, mineral.
  D(epth)=1: Lifted mouthfeel. Good length and finish.
