Community Tasting Notes 5

March 9, 2024 - Blackberries, cigar wrapper, roses, cocoa, currants and cedar create the aromatics. The palate is even better with its layers of rip, sweet, creamy, fresh, bright red fruits. There is solid lift and energy here with a chewy bite of cassis in the backend that lingers. This is a super wine that exceeds the vintage. The wine blends 85% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Merlot. Drink from 2026 - 2050.

January 23, 2024 - UGC Bordeaux (Drake Hotel - Chicago IL): Walkaround tasting with the producers. Black berries and plum, dark chocolate, some cigar notes. Big, powerful and tannic today, yet its future grace seems clear.

May 20, 2022 - Spiced cassis, cedar, tobacco wrapper and leafy herbs create the nose. On the palate the wine is bright, chewy, crisp and fresh, with a solid blast of peppery currants in the endnote. The wine is a blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Merlot, 13% ABV. The harvest took place September 24-October 8. Drink from 2026 - 2050. 92-94

April 27, 2022 - En-Primeur campaign for the 2021 vintage; 4/25/2022-4/29/2022 (Bordeaux): Slightly more savoury on the nose than the Borie, dark hued fruits, less cassis and more blackberry and blackcurrant and with a little more perfume. Juicy, fleshy, the fruit has a very slight green underpin, slight chalky tannins, drying and moderately flour textured. Alcohol contained. Hmm on this tasting.
