Community Tasting Notes 6

February 9, 2024 - Open for business in a big way after a three-hour decant. Meaty up front, becoming more fruit driven on the palate with some mushroom and forest floor. The oak has integrated nicely. This is a beautiful and good value offering, especially at the club member price. Drink now to 2030. Outstanding.

April 14, 2023 - Classic syrah notes and flavors of dark fruits, olives, pepper. Let down a bit by really heavy / toasty oak. Maybe will settle down in a few years but a bit overwhelming at this stage (for me, anyway).

February 11, 2023 - "cote de rote" in French, cherry, sl floral, acid in middle

January 23, 2023 - This really showed best on night 2.

January 13, 2023 - What a knockout. After having dropped off AMV’s mailing list more than a decade ago, we stopped by the SYV tasting room and sampled a great lineup of Cali-Rhone wines. This offering was a standout. Plums, tart cherries, blackberries and lavender in the bouquet, and a melange of crushed black and blue berries on the palate. A splash of minerals and toasty oak in the finish. A case buy to tuck away and drink over the next decade. Outstanding.
