December 7, 2023 - Classic Gevrey with animal, fur and wild berries. Palate was very giving but a bit light for a 99.

October 26, 2020 - Lovely, mature, with no metallic influences. Beautiful aromas of dried red fruits and menthol forest. Needs air, was a little tight on the get go. Light sediment. I definitely think it has a few (if not several) more years left to go.

October 27, 2019 - 13% alcohol. The cork is long, with a semi-generic "grand vin de Bourgogne" print; the wine permeates the cork nearly all the way along a side vein. Light colour with some bricking and significant fading at the edge.
The nose is complex with elegant tertiary aromas marred by an unfortunate metallic note. No undue oak influence. The mouth has good grip and commendable liveliness (with something close to a tingly sensation at times), but the metallic note intrudes again; this is a defect that I remember well from numerous Gevrey bottles produced by the late Denis Mortet, and I would love to understand its origin.
Long on complexity but short on purity. Even in absolute terms, the enjoyment factor is limited; combined with the current asking price (close to 100€, believe it or not), this is a resounding no-no (and it remains poor value even at the price that I paid at the time, probably less than a third of the above).

August 4, 2014 - Deep cherry red color. Nose is dominated by oak spice which envelops the fruit. Palate is a bit of the same - strong oak covers what seems like good red fruit. There is some bitterness on the finish. The wine is fine, with some nice flavor elements but I just can't get past the heavy oak treatment - it hurts the finished product. I don't mind heavy oak when done correctly but this is too much. (87)

November 4, 2012 - Initially mainly floral/herbal notes. After 30 min more fruit, black cherries, flavors.
