November 8, 2022 - Marquis d'Angerville Tasting and Lunch (Restaurant Fitzgerald *, Rotterdam, NL): From Guillaume d’Angerville’s personal cellar. An excellent bottle. Mature and lively, harmonious and complex aromas, fresh but with resolved tannins, steely acidity starts to stick out a bit, lovely energy on the finish.

November 13, 2021 - 9th of 12, decanted 30 minutes, perfect cork and level, unchanged from bottle noted in Nov 13, still showing extreme reduction and tinny notes only partially ameliorated over the evening by swirling and exposure to air, hard to see this ever coming properly into balance but no rush in this vintage. Technically VGI (17) but less so on pleasure.

    October 11, 2019 - Musty.

  • Schwarzer Hund Does not like this wine:

October 5, 2019 - Sadly our last bottle but it was very disappointing. Still garnet red, but the nose was off putting. Not oxidized or corked but some caramel notes. On the palate it was hard to describe as anything but weird. Several dinner mates tried it and all declined a second sip. Our first 5 bottles drunk previously were terrific. Don't know what happened with this bottle.

February 21, 2019 - Light ruby but cloudy as an aged Burgundy. Lovely floral aroma with red fruits and silky palate. Opened in the bottle and drank over two hours. At the end there were more complex aroma and palate, wet wood and minerals. But it declined very soon. It’s time to drink up.
