Community Tasting Notes 10

April 24, 2021 - Gorgeous fully mature Barolo. Tannins have softened. Bright acidity, savory cherry fruits. This had complexity and depth. No noticeable wood. This wine is so harmonious. Just a joy to drink with porcini rubbed prime NY Strip steaks.

February 3, 2021 - Lovely, fully mature Barolo. This is a dry style, but still really good with Brian Flannery California Reserve NY Strip with a porcini rub. Very traditional in style.

December 7, 2020 - Medium to light body, quite a bit of sediment left in the bottle. Bricking eating into the wine. Some VA on the nose to start with but that blows off over time, it really needs a lot of air to blossom and 2 hours decanted wasn’t really enough. Cherry and leather on the palate, still some fine tannins on the edges, lovely long finish, good to drink now but will most likely develop further

October 20, 2018 - Last bottle of this and sadly it was very badly corked (the first and only corked bottle in my six-pack)

February 2, 2014 - Medium to light bodied Barolo with an earthy nose and palate. Some mixed fruit but the dominating flavors are earth, tea bag, and herbs. A rustic wine with noticeable acidity that went well with pizza.
