January 1, 2021 - Very much appreciated! Nose medium purple, medium opacity, slight bricking at the rim. First blast of ripe blackberries, followed by hot wet stone, leather, some vanilla undertones, allspice.A beautiful mouthful, well structured and balanced. The tannins are present although mellow. Just ripe plum comes to mind as an initial thought.
A perfect accompaniment to braised lamb shanks, celebrating the new year. Still drinking well and possibly for another couple of years, but don't wait. It's great now.
I will be looking out for this again. -
