September 4, 2023 - Consistent with previous notes but some additional time in bottle has helped the wine settle down a bit. Really fantastic nose with some white pepper, florals and under ripe stone fruit. Zippy acidity. Will save my last bottle for a bit to see how it develops.

    July 3, 2023 - CMS blind tasting

Pours a clear lemon (some said gold. I disagree). Aromas of fresh lemon, lime, under ripe white peach, white flowers, fresh radish, wet stone, a certain spiciness and also a certain wooliness. Pretty good minerality, at least on the nose. Medium intensity of aromas. No evidence of oak. Palate confirms all of the aromas and also shows phenolic bitterness. Chalky.

Medium body, medium + acid. Youthful.

    Call - 2021 Grüner Veltliner

IMO, this is still developing and will be more expressive in 2-3 years. But it shows a lot of potential.

March 28, 2023 - A Taste of Aspen; 3/27/2023-3/29/2023: Pale yellow. Aromatic, high pitched herbs and citrus on the nose. Light, bright acidity, citrus, and very good minerality.

March 12, 2023 - Finished the bottle without ever warming up to it. Feels like it's trying too hard to be more complex than it should be. I hate to give it an actual rating, since other people think highly of it. Not enjoyable.

March 7, 2023 - During a walkabout tasting of Swiss and Austrian wines. I mainly focused on the Swiss Pinot s to see how things are developing in "Gantenbein's footsteps". On the positive side it was nice to see that the category has become quite dynamic with many young wine makers taking a stab at it. Quality is improving, although many wines are still quite rustic, so work in progress I would describe the scene. TN: No detailed tasting notes, only brief impressions. Light and crisp, good balance, I preferred the Hochrain though.
