December 19, 2010 - AWG Rijstaffel: Served with a group we hosted for a Rijstaffel. Deep golden color. Has a very lovely integrated nose of peach, petrol, lime, flowers, and honey. Seemed Mosel-like. Did not live up to its nose on the palate. Light medium body. Has some tart citrus/peach notions, but fruit drops off. Much better on the sniff than the swallow.

Rockss and Fruit

(Johannisoff Johannisberger Klaus Riesling Spatlese) Great nose of petrol, peach, honey, tea leaf and mint. Viscous yet the acid is there. Grapefruits abound along with a lemon-drop like finish. As this opened in the glass orange marmalade and cotton candy aromas started to show. Beautiful wine that is ready to go.
