Community Tasting Notes 7

January 15, 2024 - Really good QVP. Unmistakable notes of black pepper, olives, violets, bacon, plum. Concentrated but very lively on the palate.

December 17, 2023 - Glou Glou style of Cornas. Is there Carbonic on this? Whole cluster? Both?

Ripe red raspberry, ripe red strawberry, lemon juice on the nose. Overall smells light and fruity with a medium intensity of aromas. Gets more intense after about an hour in the glass, moving up to medium +. The palate is more complex, adding flavors of baking spices, granite, barnyard, lemon peel (with plenty of white pith), white pepper and grapefruit. Overall mineral driven.

Medium body with medium + acid and medium - tannin. The lightest Cornas I've ever had. Will definitely improve with food. Drinking pretty well right now. I don't think it will be as long lived as some Cornas, but I could see it improving with around 2 more years in the bottle.

October 6, 2023 - Hints of charcoal, peppercorn and blackberry on the nose, big, masculine and peppery with a profile of flavors including plum, olives, black raspberry and cherry, dark and brooding, on the modern fruit forward spectrum, drinking well and will continue to evolve, nicely balanced and good with food

May 12, 2023 - The closure was this plastic thing that he uses, I hat them! The nose had not a single whiff of Syrah, more like a thin Cabernet Franc. Taste was thin but drinkable, nothing happened a pure catastrophe, my only bottle, I have hav tasted others wine from the portofolio much better, St. Joseph was so good and so with the others, Cornas should have been the best , just not tonight!!
