November 23, 2020 - During a St.Emilion dinner. Deep garnet. Another wine that suffered from over-extraction in the Parker era. The nose was actually quite nice with brooding dark fruit, gingerbread. The palate the revealed a tannic, hot extracted side, also lots of acidity. At least, unlike the 2001 Mondotte next to it, it was not pruny/overripe, just over-extracted but not overripe luckily. Nose 92, palate 89.

February 17, 2016 - 1st of 6. Quite well developed, stoney and rather austere with a slighty bitter vegetal finish. Medium bodied. Some lingering tannins. Average 3+/5

January 25, 2015 - in a good place for drinking now. The exuberant fruit has, to my taste, now calmed down a little and the minerality is starting to come through.

June 14, 2013 - Still quite tannic, but with a goodly amount of fruit. It doesn't seem to have developed the full range of minerality / tobacco notes of some older Bordeaux, so it will be interesting to see how this develops with still more time. At the moment it goes into the "still relatively young" category. But then I like my Bordeaux old....

February 17, 2011 - Charcoal, smoke, cassis scents in the nose. This medium bodied wine ends with herbs and tart black cherries. This is probably past its prime and is on the downside of life. This is the debut vintage for this wine. Subsequent vintages are better wines.
