January 25, 2014 - Glad to see this entry level Cabernet Sauvignon - not Cab Franc as usual in this region - is still in good shape after over 8 years. On the second night open, this is dark brick in colour with a purple tinge as well. Blackfruits, cedar and tomato leaf on the moderate nose. Medium to full bodied on the smooth, surprisingly powerful palate, with more blackfruits, tobacco, cedar and a slight herbal note. There are still slight tannins at the back end. This is a great QPR wine from a great Loire vintage that really punched above its weight and rather humble region. Very interesting to taste a cab sauvignon from this area, and it makes me wish more could be grown here. It could still last a few years, so there's no great rush (B+/A-).

December 6, 2012 - Dark slightly plummy red. Smoky cedar nose, with a chunky ripe yet thoroughly dry palate and considerable tannic clout. Big vintage stuff that's aging slowly.

April 2, 2012 - deep crimson. still tight upon opening, unexpectedly powerful with concentrated dark berry fruit; underlying savory, dried herbal character with spice and mineral on the finish. Firm tannins, integrated crisp acidity. Not rustic but somehow a country wine character. Medium plus finish.

March 10, 2012 - Both my wife picked up a hint of pine early on - still a nice glass of wine. As the glass opened up the hint of pine increased. Vac-sealed rest of bottle and tried the next day - the pine was so strong it was undrinkable.

July 6, 2010 - Deep purple in colour, with mainly herbs (not in a 'green' way), blackfruits and black licorice on the nice nose. Not a hint of green on the medium-bodied palate either, with a very smooth texture with some slight ripe tannins at the end. More blackcurrants, blueberries, dark chocolate and smoke on the palate. Very nice cab franc, and great QPR. Not overly complex right now, but certainly very tasty, and it should last several more years without any problem. A ripe style of Loire CF (A-).
