April 25, 2024 - Clear medium/deep gold; clean medium plus of macadamia nuts and salinity; dry; high acidity; medium alcohol; medium plus body; pronounced flavour intensity; palate is tarter and much better than nose with addition of croissant notes; long finish; very unique wine - starts as a buttery Chardonnay and then becomes leaner with a nutty finish; my notes are not matching others - I wonder if I was drinking the last of the bottle and some oxygen had slipped in?

March 27, 2024 - Opened with Charles at Noble Rot Mayfair. #748

First experience with this wine, but the hype is certainly real. Gorgeous, lush nose which oozes richness and a kaleidoscope of sweet fruit (think bananas, even melons) alongside white flowers. Distinctly not Chardonnay, as there was no butter - this is rich in its own way. On the palate, it's already so well balanced at this age; the acidity is very well integrated and precise. All in all, one of the best Aligotes I've had to date!

Thank you Charles for sharing this with me - a wonderful experience and memory.

February 3, 2024 - Crazy. Really expressive nose with so much intensity. Lemon curd, white flowers, yellow apple, toast, and some tropical banana even. Very complex and interesting. Really nice density and good acidity to finish it all off. Really impressed! Did not expect it to live up to the hype here.

February 3, 2024 - Aligotasting (Utregs Wijnhuis): [Tasted blind] This was my #2 of the night; a brilliant nose and an equally impressive palate! Happy to see that some hypes make sense (although (secondary market) prices do not of course). A slight reductive note, as with Faure some Chenin resemblance. Pear, yellow apple. A lot of concentration. A flavor explosion on the palate, a fresh fruit cocktail, orange peel, freshly squeezed fruit juice. Medium+ acidity, long finish. Great to have been able to taste this, wow

Part of 10 Aligote’s tasted blind with Anne Boisson, Comte Armand, Pierre Boisson, Coche Dury, Fabien Coche, Nicolas Faure, Charles Lachaux, Cassiopee, Ramonet and Leroy

November 11, 2023 - Tasted at Les Amis with Charles Lachaux. Grapes are picked from the commune of Vose-Romanée, bottom of the slope. Very white, marly soils. Whole clusters directly pressed, indigenous yeast fermentation in barrel. Aged for 12 months in barrel (no new oak), unfined, unfiltered. No added sulfur.
