March 11, 2012 - Stewed plum, licorice root and a whiff of alcohol on the nose. Full bodied, rich and flavorful: black cherry, plum, spices and layers of chocolate. A hint of earth on the finish (retail $39.99)

February 19, 2012 - Nice chocolate finish. Was smooth and had good fruit. Enjoyed the wine, unfortunately was my last bottle...

December 28, 2011 - Initially smelled like someone stirred year old potpourri in the closet under the stairs. After time in decanter, smelled some dark cherry syrup and decomposing fall leaves. Dark cherry continues into the palate, very light in the mouth. Craisins and other dried things. Interesting wine, but not as good as the other amarone I have had.

    February 26, 2011 - Dinner at Georgio's
Really enjoyed this introduction to Amarone
    Dark red, almost, purple.
Nose and taste of cherries with a hint of cherry liqueur
Heavily extracted, ballanced acidity, light tannins on the finish.

December 30, 2010 - Rusty magenta. Sweet nose of geranium, slightly overripe red apples, strawberry jam, and a bit of nutmeg. Really nice. Medium bodied, slightly sour cherries, cinnamon, blackberries, molasses, integrated tannins, and a dry medium to long finish. Tasty and a good value.
