April 14, 2024 - PnP. Smelled of sweaty horses mane, salami and underneath it all, there was a delicate, perfumed red fruit. It was all very intriguing and fun, though we felt disappointed.
This all passed later though, after maybe 30 mins it really started to show its true potential. Still the elegant perfume of cool garnacha, and now a very powerful chalky minerality, chablis’esque, giving a wonderful structure and a sense of much bigger things in wait for this wine. Tannins are youthful too. Hold and look forward to this. Will be buying more for the cellar for sure. -

March 11, 2024 - Fine wine. Thought it was a bit disappointing at first and a case of the emperor’s new clothes but this opened up quickly with air. Elegant and ethereal but not lacking in flavour. Beautiful texture and flavours that are reminiscent of good burgundy. There’s a bit of Vosne exotic spice and pure strawberry fruit. Multi layered but it’s like one layer is just missing something giving a slight impression of leaness. Might fill out with age. Still very good and tempted to buy more to see how it develops as there’s some good structure here and fine tannins. 4+

February 27, 2024 - Disclaimer for the NR: This bottle was opened by a colleague and one glass was left in the bottle and recorked and then given to me 3 days after.
Reading the other tasting notes here it seems like there might be pattern.
First off the nose was so absolutely lovely. Extremely red-fruited with a symphony of crushed berries, a little sous bois and that just slightly natural touch in a good way. So light, inviting and elegant!
The palate was very different and I don't know if it's because of the 3 days, bottle variance or something else? It was more dark, tight, muted, a little more natural and bretty with a kind of animalistic feeling and felt just a bit off?1 person found this helpful Comment -

February 25, 2024 - Unfortunately this Comando G reminds me of how infuriating their wines can be. When they are on they are really on. But when they are off, one really wonders what’s the point. Although the same could be said for most natural wines I suppose. This one had too much Brett for the aromatics to shine. And these wines are all about the aromatics, which from the little bit peeking through are still probably as electric as ever in this vintage. The 14.5% is too heavy and shows not terribly well against the light palate.
