April 4, 2024 - This was disappointing. I know, I know: Le Maconnais, sub-$40 Burgundy, all that. Still, disappointing.
Pale gold in the glass, and a fairly extensive bouquet of yellow apple, quince, chalk or crushed gravel, and a surprising amount of tropical fruit - mango and pineapple or star fruit. But on the palate, this is flabbier than anticipated, with limited acidity and structure, and a flinty bitterness that covers up virtually any other quality of the wine. Never have I more wanted a wine to have a bit of oak structure or backbone. Worked fine with roasted salmon and mustard & oil-tossed veggies - mainly cause the wine stayed out of the way, hiding under its flabby bitterness. -

February 2, 2024 - Slo-oxed for 15 minutes, chilled. A very pleasant unoaked French Chardonnay. The color was a clear medium yellow. Yellow & white fruit, honeysuckle, almonds and minerality on the nose. Pear, apple compote, almond, minerality and lemon show on the medium bodied, but creamy palate. The acidity is quite juicy and balancing. This wine will probably hold for several years.

November 11, 2022 - Absolutely one of the best Chardonnays I have ever tasted. Light golden color in the glass with beguiling aromas of tropical fruits, almonds, lemons, honey and hint of fresh apple. This wine is so lusciously rich on the palate with zesty acidity and smooth creamy mouthfeel. Elegant smooth lingering finish. Note: this White Burgundy is un-oaked and from the souther region of Burgundy.
