Community Tasting Notes 6

November 26, 2023 - Medium ruby color. Aromas of red and black berries, rose petals and smoke. Palate is more blackberry focused with interesting additions of black licorice and fresh herbs. Nice mineral note on the medium-plus finish. I did not detect any evidence of oak aging. Lively acidity and quite subtle. Medium bodied and very complex. Well made.

    July 30, 2023 - Muted red fruits.
OK food wine. Austere without food. Not a great Beaujolais.

April 23, 2023 - Had an earlier vintage; always tasty & refreshing. No TN this vintage yet; in cool cellar for some rest. Note, this bottling is no longer a Beaujolais-Villages, but now a straight Beaujolais -- a high quality one, especially for the price. According to author Jon Bonne in his book, "The New French Wine, the narrative (Vol.1)" Lantignie "is often discussed as the next potential [cru] addition." P. 157; watch this area.

April 13, 2023 - Tart fruit on the nose, cranberry, lovely in its way. Served a little warm with sun heat on it.

March 14, 2023 - Negligible sediment. Medium red, touch of magenta.
Fresh, spicy, clean. Subdued fruit. Raspberry emerging.
Purple fruited. Lovely Gamay fruit. Shortish. A little watery on the finish. A pleasant food wine. Not a keeper.
